Charter Night 2010

Lion Bill Rinehart named Lion of the Year
Our club held it's 30th Anniversary Charter Dinner Saturday, May 15. It was a big night for our club and for many individual members as well.
To the left is a picture of Lion Bill Rinehart receving the Lion of the Year award. It's the second time Lion Bill has received the award. He's very deserving of the recognition. Lion Sandy Ruane made the presentation. Congratulations Bill!
Two members were added to our club's growing list of Melvin Jones Fellows. Lions Shawn Busby and Jerry Johnson each received the honor. Lion Jerry has served as our club's Treasurer for many years. Lion Shawn served as Secretary for several years and Club President this year. Lions Nick Greemann and Frank Ruane shared the duty of presenting these awards.
Lion Danny Ball was also named a Melvin Jones Fellow, but was not present at the Charter Dinner. He was presented with his plaque at the following meeting.
Other highlights from Charter Dinner included the official induction of new Lions Pete Burgmeier and Scott Brown, installation of our incoming officers, and the ceremonial passing of the gavel from outgoing President Shawn Busby to incoming President David Beatty.
The Charter Dinner was held at Chateau de Pique Winery. Dakota Ridge provided the meal.

Girl's Inc. Playground
Here's a look at the new playground equipment at Girl's Inc. A portion of our annual grant funds were awarded to Girl's Inc for this new structure.
Lion Donjay Rice will discuss this and the other eight projects that we were able to support on May 27th. That's the date for our next Visitor's Day. Bring a guest!

Our club recently completed two community service projects... interior painting at Provisions Food Bank and exterior painting at the farmer's market. Both look great!
